Equipped with a self-locking cone capable of stably coupling the crankshaft and pinion.

With this system, the key does not need to be used. Ideal
for modified engines and for crankshafts damaged at the key seat.

The cone is compatible with the entire range of Piaggio crankshafts and interchangeable. It is recommended to apply strong type threadlocker on the
fixing nut and to respect the tightening torque of 60-70 Nm.

For disassembly, a 3-thread puller is required, not included.

The new Malossi primary transmission for the Vespa is a true engineering marvel. From the highest quality materials to the attention to detail and the quality of mechanical processes, everything is brought to a very high level. From the bronze bushing to the clutch basket and gears, everything is machined separately to ensure that each individual component is produced to the highest quality standard.

The core of the innovations introduced in this transmission is the new clutch bell, made from special steel and characterized by six slots for the clutch discs, all six "active" and aimed at locking the discs. In this way, all mechanical play is minimized, as are vibrations and the consequent wear of the basket itself and the disc guide teeth.
