The oil seal is a very important element when it comes to engine seals. For optimal performance, the seal on the crankshaft must be perfect, which is achieved thanks to a spring inside the oil seal lip. Over time, it loses elasticity, and as it wears out, the engine will suck in air, compromising its operation (irregular RPMs, lack of idle stability). It is recommended to replace them with high-end products in Viton, PTFE, Corteco, Ariete, Rolf, Malossi to ensure good performance and keep you away from problems. RDV TIP: ALWAYS check that the seal on the shaft is optimal, even by simply testing it by hand before positioning it. If it is not, also check the crankshaft.
