Wenn wir einen alten Motor auseinandernehmen, werden wir feststellen, dass die Kurbelwelle verschiedene Abnutzungserscheinungen aufweist. An den Stellen, an denen die Wellendichtringe arbeiten, könnte es zu einer richtigen Einkerbung durch Abrieb kommen (ja, auch Gummi hinterlässt durch Reibung Spuren). Das Lager könnte frei in der Aufnahme sitzen, und die Pleuelstange könnte ein seltsames Geräusch machen, wenn man sie dreht (ein Zeichen von Abnutzung).
