Tapered roller bearings have a larger support surface and are therefore much more loadable compared to traditional factory solutions with ball bearings. Tapered roller bearings are much better able to withstand the high loads of powerful braking systems and are also much more wear-resistant.
They increase active driving safety by ensuring the ideal condition of a smooth and non-blocking steering for a very long time. A criterion that will become evident at the latest with the next TÜV inspection.
NOTE: The upper BGM tapered roller bearing is superior to the original one. Therefore, it is not possible to use a locknut to prevent rotation as with the original bearing. For locking, the thread is designed to be self-locking, meaning it is cut tighter and can thus be tightened more securely than an original piece. Additionally, screw locking can be used. Then adjust the bearing play and position the steering tube on the upper bearing ring so that no gap is visible between the two.
